Zaragoza and Huesca eye Utebo or Calamocha in Copa del Rey draw
The draw places Zaragoza and Huesca in Group 2, with their first-round match pending a potential clash vs Utebo or Calamocha.
Real Zaragoza and SD Huesca are both in Group 2 of the Copa del Rey, waiting to see whether they’ll be able to play an Aragon derby against Utebo or Calamocha. As Sport reports, the group draw confirmed that both Primera RFEF sides can only be drawn against eight lower-division teams.
The permitted opponents are Tudelano, Amorebieta, Reus, Portugalete, Manresa, Peña Sport, plus Utebo and Calamocha. The matches for this stage will be revealed next Monday.
Last season, Zaragoza beat Multivera in their opener (1-3) but were eliminated by Burgos on a narrow 0-1. Huesca advanced past Utebo and Racing de Ferrol (0-3 and 0-2) before bowing out next round with a 2-4 loss to Osasuna.
