Zaragoza youth players Stroe and Marga called up by Romania

Two Zaragoza academy players are set for an international stint with their national team. As reported by Sport, David Stroe and Adrián Marga—both currently training at the club’s training center as part of their youth setup—have been called up by Romania for matches and training sessions in the coming weeks.

Called up for late September

Stroe, from Cadete A, will join the U-16 squad to take part in an international four-nations tournament. The cadet will face Turkey, Portugal and Denmark on 30 September, 3 October and 6 October, respectively.

Marga, from Cadete B, will instead take part in training: he’s scheduled to join Romania’s camp between 27 September and 4 October, according to Sport.

More international exposure

The news also fits a wider trend of Zaragoza players earning opportunities in youth internationals. The article adds that Javier Berdejo (a 16-year-old youth central defender, already with Aragón) was with Spain’s U-17 men’s team until this Thursday and will return on Friday after training held since last Monday in Alfaz del Pi, ahead of three qualification matches for the European Championship 2027 taking place in October.
