Zidane won't call a replacement for Mbappé’s injury

Zinedine Zidane has decided that France will not call any replacement to cover the injury of Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid). The forward will miss the next three Nations League games: against Belgium this Monday, versus Italy on Friday, October 2, and again against Belgium on the 5th.

As the French Football Federation confirmed this Saturday, the coach will keep the rest of the squad unchanged. Mbappé was hurt after scoring the only goal in France’s win over Türkiye in Zidane’s first match as head coach, and he left the camp this Saturday for Madrid to be assessed by the club’s medical staff.

The captain has a tendon issue in his right knee. Zidane said it “is a small problem”, but opted not to take any risks.
