Abde and Álvaro Valles make UEFA’s best-of the matchday list

UEFA put Betis in the spotlight after their win at La Cartuja versus FC Porto, highlighting two match moments: Abde’s goal and Álvaro Valles’ decisive save. The Moroccan opened the scoring with a shot into the corner following a move sparked by Marc Roca, who played a through pass inside for Fran García’s run.

Two standout moments

In that second-round Champions League matchday, Abde was shortlisted alongside Samu (Porto), Zechiel (Feyenoord) and Doué (PSG). For the goalkeeper award, UEFA pointed to Valles’s one-handed stop after a stoppage-time header from Santiago Giménez. Valles edged out Courtois (Real Madrid), Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Haikin (Bodø/Glimt) and Gregor Kobel (Borussia Dortmund), as reported by MARCA.
