The outlet adds that after an initial round of other names and offers, Valencia believes Aguirre’s profile matches the team’s needs thanks to his experience, character and LaLiga knowledge. MARCA notes he has previously managed in Spain at clubs including Osasuna, Atlético, Zaragoza, Espanyol, Leganés and Mallorca.

From Aguirre’s side, the prospect of returning to Spanish football appeals strongly. MARCA says the Valencia job is viewed positively, as it would be his seventh LaLiga club, and that economic terms do not appear to be a major obstacle.
