Álex Sola, Almería midfielder, tests positive after a car crash

Almería midfielder Álex Sola tested positive for alcohol after being involved in a car accident on Avenida Montserrat during the early hours. A breath test carried out after the incident led to an official report being opened.

According to Mundo Deportivo and local outlets, the Local Police found a high-end BMW with the front axle wheels bent and crashed into other vehicles. After the test, Sola returned a positive result and an atestado was filed.

It is not the first time something similar has happened at the club: last season, Aridane Hernández also collided with three cars when entering his parking spot, gave a positive alcohol reading, was detained and then released while awaiting a swift court appearance. Meanwhile, on Saturday Sola watched from the bench as Almería beat Burgos 2-1 in LaLiga Hypermotion (matchday 8).
