Ansu Fati: Monaco targets a Toulouse debut for 2026-27

The forward, sidelined by a calf issue, returned on October 3 and could finally play this Saturday vs Toulouse.

Ansu Fati and Monaco head into a key week: the forward, who still hadn’t made his official debut for the Principality side, could finally do it this Saturday against Toulouse in Ligue 1. The ex-Barcelona player returned on October 3 in Monaco’s friendly against Pisa, which finished 2-0.

Fati trained with the group again last week after suffering a calf problem during pre-season. Monaco kept him on a progressive plan to prevent anything worse, and although he was close to making the squad for the Lens match, coach Filipe Luís decided to delay his debut until after the international break.

Luis also described what he wants from him: «He’s fantastic with the ball… and ran a lot». He added, «We have to try to place him as close to the area as possible».

Monaco paid €11 million to Barcelona this summer and secured him until 2030. Last season he scored 12 goals for Louis II (11 in Ligue 1 and one in the Champions League), and the club also lists his return among the reasons to attend the game.
