Bonfanti joins Las Palmas on loan from Atalanta

Giovanni Bonfanti reinforces Las Palmas on loan from Atalanta. The Italian defender, 23 years old, arrives on a temporary deal until 30 June 2027 with a purchase option, as confirmed on Monday by the LaLiga Hypermotion side.

Bonfanti made his Atalanta debut in November 2023 and spent last season on loan at Spezia before returning to the Bergamo club this summer. The centre-back stands out for his versatility: he can play as a left-sided centre-back or as a fullback, with strong individual duelling ability and the capacity to build play from the back. He has competed in Serie A and Serie B, and also has experience with Italy's U21 squad.

With this signing, Las Palmas completes two defensive reinforcements following the departures of Sergio Barcia (Sporting Braga) and Mika Mármol (Feyenoord). The club had already announced the signing of Nicholas Opoku, an international from Ghana, to bolster its defensive line.
