Hansi Flick’s Barcelona: 9 goals conceded in 12 matches ahead of El Clásico
In LaLiga Barcelona have conceded 9 in 12 games; in the Champions League, 6 more. Set-piece and individual errors are under review.
Hansi Flick’s Barcelona are on defensive alert: in 12 official matches they’ve conceded 9 goals in LaLiga and 6 in the Champions League. As Mundo Deportivo notes, the team is almost giving up a goal per game, with PSG a major contributor alongside goals from Rayo, Levante, Racing and Betis.
Danger from set pieces
From those goals, Barcelona have also conceded three headers: one from Sevilla and another from Betis after crosses, plus one from PSG after a corner routine. Corner kicks have been a problem too: Rayo scored from one, and PSG did the same; against Galatasaray, another was scored though later ruled out.
Individual mistakes and injuries
Two of the PSG goals came from shots outside the area, and others from individual mistakes: one versus Levante after an over-risky pass toward the goalkeeper, and another against Racing due to an unnecessary dribble by Szczesny. Defensive absences have forced changes, with the side against PSG featuring Espart, Cubarsí, Gerard Martín and Cancelo, while Christensen, Joan García, Koundé and Eric García have missed out.
Gordon summed up the mood with: «Debemos aprender de esto y yo tengo mucho por hacer»—with Flick’s message focused on playing calmer, keeping distances tight, offering cover, and avoiding turnovers in dangerous areas.
