Brest lose to Nice 2-1 after Ajorque’s opener
Ajorque scored for Brest (15’), but Wahi equalised (61’) and Diop made it 2-1; Brest missed a 99’ penalty.
The Stade Brestois 29 ended up losing 2-1 to the OGC Nice after Ajorque put them ahead at 15 minutes. The goal came from a recovery: Ajorque finished at an empty goal after Diouf was involved in the build-up that left Brest with the clearest chance. In the 34th minute, Brest could have made it 2-0, but Doumbia missed from point-blank range after a poor clearance by Diouf.
Nice levelled it
After the break, Diouf saved Lala’s effort (47’) and Magnetti tested the goalkeeper (48’). Brest failed to kill the game and Nice came back: Amoura scored from a corner, with Wahi following in to make it 1-1 at 61’. In the closing stages, Tousart’s header was denied (79’) and Magnetti’s free kick went over (83’).
Nice then took the lead when Wahi won the ball off Locko and Diop beat Selvik to make it 1-2 at 84’. In stoppage time, VAR led to a penalty for a foul on Kanté, but Lala’s shot was saved by Diouf in the 99th minute, sealing Brest’s 2-1 loss.
