Erling Haaland (Man City) sets a new record: 60 goals in 61 UCL games
The Norwegian scored twice and became the youngest and fastest to reach 60 goals in 61 Champions League matches.
Erling Haaland of Manchester City keeps chasing milestones in the Champions League: he scored a brace on the day and reached 60 goals in 61 games.
As Fabrizio Romano reports, Haaland is now the youngest and fastest player to hit 60 UCL goals, doing it 20 matches quicker than Messi’s previous mark. The record is tied directly to the number of games needed to reach the total.
The numbers also underline why City rely so much on him in Europe. Haaland sits at 38 goals in 41 Champions League appearances, topping the competition’s all-time scoring list. Sergio Agüero is next with 36 goals in 64 matches.
