Fede Valverde is a doubt vs Villarreal: trained with the group

Real Madrid head into the Villarreal game with a big question mark: Fede Valverde trained with the main group in the final session before the Bernabéu clash, this Saturday at 21:00 (Movistar LaLiga). The Uruguay midfielder has been the main concern after suffering a grade-three ankle sprain in the derby.

As noted by Mundo Deportivo, Mourinho summed it up with: "no se sabe si está para jugar". In training, at least during the first 15 minutes open to the media, Valverde worked at the same pace as the rest, going through the usual warm-up, rondos and physical activation.

The session did not include the injured players Asencio, Mendy and Rodrygo, all still in their recovery processes. With no official word yet, Valverde could make the squad, but if he starts, it would likely be from the bench against Villarreal.
