JJ Gabriel still in Barcelona: Manchester United’s future remains open

English media say the 15-year-old keeps training in Castelldefels after interest from Barça, Real Madrid and Bayern came up.

JJ Gabriel, from Manchester United, is still in Barcelona and his future remains unclear after his family asked the club to help facilitate an exit. According to the player’s circle, the Barça, Real Madrid and Bayern are among those interested.

His links to Barcelona go back further: he has previously sent signals toward the Blaugrana, but Deco cooled it down recently, saying they weren’t interested in any player in JJ Gabriel’s situation. Even so, the English press reported that he traveled to Barcelona to see the club’s facilities first-hand, and last year he also visited the Camp Nou with his family.

Training weeks later

The big twist came after the Manchester Evening News revealed that JJ Gabriel is still training in Barcelona weeks after that visit. He does so regularly at the British School facilities in Castelldefels.

On October 6, he will turn 16 and would already be of age to sign his first professional contract. Still, nothing is closed: Michael Carrick has asked for respect and to remove pressure on the 15-year-old.
