José Bordalás dodges Carvajal talk and focuses on Barça
Getafe’s coach held court before facing FC Barcelona, addressing the squad’s condition after the international break.
José Bordalás, Getafe’s head coach, addressed the media ahead of the trip to FC Barcelona and made it clear his focus is purely on the match. When asked about the supposed interest in Dani Carvajal, he refused to discuss it: “Carvajal? … my mind is on tomorrow’s game against FC Barcelona.”
Bordalás also described how the team returned from the break. He said they arrived “quite well”, though some players were tired from travel and the time change, and insisted the week has centered on showing the right attitude and maximum focus to compete at the Camp Nou.
He praised Barcelona’s current form, saying they are among the best teams in the competition and that their squad can rotate without losing level. He added that Borja Mayoral is training normally and noted that even if Raphinha is not available, the Barça roster still remains strong. As MARCA reports, Bordalás stressed that avoiding “gross” mistakes and ball losses in dangerous areas will be essential for Getafe to stand a chance.
