Real Madrid visit Man City seeking their first European win

Second matchday of the Women’s Champions League league phase: the Madrid women opened with a 1-1 draw vs PSG.

Real Madrid travel to Manchester City for the second matchday of the Women’s Champions League league phase (21:00/Disney +) aiming for their first win in the competition.

Pau Quesada’s side opened last week with a 1-1 draw at the Alfredo di Stéfano against PSG. Felicia Schröder put the visitors ahead in the second minute, but Karchaoui converted a late penalty to make it 1-1. The Madrid team sit tenth provisionally, with five matchdays left, while reaching the quarter-finals remains the target.

In Liga F, they are still unbeaten: four wins and one draw, with 13 goals scored and six conceded, for 13 points—two behind leaders Barcelona. They face Barcelona next on 4 October. City, returning to Europe after missing 2025-26, also drew on matchday one, finishing 2-2 vs Bayern, with Carlotta Wamser scoring in the 86th minute. In England’s Super League they’ve won their first four games.

Their three previous Champions League meetings read two Real Madrid wins and one draw. The last one was in August 2022 at the Alfredo di Stéfano, when Real won 1-0 thanks to Caroline Weir’s goal, according to Mundo Deportivo.
