Sanse aim to grow at Zubieta against Mallorca

Real Sociedad II want to keep their good run going and finally feel stronger as locals when they take on Mallorca at Zubieta (14:00). As Mundo Deportivo explains, the issue at home is that the stadium still hasn’t fully become “home”: between last season and this one they’ve managed only one win.

Andorra brings positives

The Sanse arrive buoyed by what they did against Andorra, where they collected three points and also enjoyed “Rupérez’s first big night in Segunda”. Mundo Deportivo also highlights the “debuts of Ropero and Larrañaga”. After that, they’ve gone four matches unbeaten, sitting eighth with 8 points. At Zubieta they’ve had an away-to-home draw vs Tenerife, and a loss vs Castellón.

Injuries and a keeper doubt

For the game, coach Ansotegi won’t have several injured players: Calderón, Osazuwa, and Orobengoa. On top of that, Beitia and Marchal are with the first team. Mundo Deportivo points out that the main doubt is the goalkeeper, noting that “with Folgado they haven’t taken the step of trust they did with Arana.” Ayo is expected back, and Dani Díaz is also likely to be involved given his current form.

Mundo Deportivo adds that several usual call-ups had to play on Tuesday with Spain’s U21 in England, including Folgado (90’), Ropero (62’), Larrañaga (70’), Oleaga (62’), Eceizabarrena (90’), Soroeta (90’), Telletxea (90’) and Nebreda (62’).

Mallorca arrive on a roll

Mallorca come in as a strong outfit with Primera-level names like Raíllo, Torre, Darder and Valjent, plus signings of that same profile, according to Mundo Deportivo. They’re second with 10 points, after beating Sabadell last week and following up with three unbeaten matches. Away from home, though, they’ve been less convincing: only one point from six. They will be without David López, Abdón, Luna, Kalumba and Salas.

Finally, Mundo Deportivo quotes Unai Valverde: “It’s a special match for me; I have friends in Mallorca and the captain played with me”.
